I was counceled weak on timeing for a 5 minute talk. I was 1 second overtime. The TM conductor Ward (wardo) Osman looked like Colonel Klinc.

Whats the dumbest thing you were counselled for?
by Beck_Melbourne ini was once counselled by the elders for watching 'knots landing'....it became widely known in the congregation that me and a few other sisters would rush home from field service to watch our favourite soapie.
if we missed it, we would ring each other up for an update...or...if we weren't near a tv we would ask someone to put the phone handset on the top of their tv so we could hear it...pathetic huh...but that was all the excitement we could scrounge up in our otherwise dull and uneventful lives.
one of the elder's wive's conscience got the better of her...and she confessed to her husband..lol.

WERE YOU A "GOOD" PUBLISHER?
by minimus inone of the first "privileges" any prospective witness has is that of being a publisher.of course, once you're a publisher, you are one for life.
so, either you are a "good" publisher or a "bad" one.
a good publisher has to get the national average,be a "good" example, and pretty much do whatever the elders ask of you.

I was pathetic. People used to "heave sighs" when they seen me coming. I would get out about every 3 months. I was never able to go beyond 3 Saturdays in a row. Then I would sink into inactivity for another 2 or 3 months. I used to give very good talk number 2's and 5's. Once I was told I had given the best reading they ever heard. But of course it was a mystery "How could Jehovah bless him when he doesn't do the ministry?" Puke. Every once in a while an elder would take interest in me but would throw the towel in after a while. I would sit at the meetings totally zombiefied. I WAS PATHETIC!!!!!!!! Damn you minimus for making me relive this PAIN !

DID YOU EVER LEARN anything because you were a JW?
by minimus inwas there ever anything positive from being a witness?

I think I learned a bit about selling. But I seem to need paper in my hand or I am lost.

Will they grow Hemp in that Paradise garden?
by kenpodragon ini was thinking today about that paradise garden the witness always pictured.
i remember all those happy blank faces, with the rosy cheeks and content look.
they were all smiling eating a apple, petting a lion, and running around the trees.

I imagine in the new system of things (TM) we can all go down to the local laundry mat and get one of those WT/Awake! rags that will be laying all over the place and roll them up and smoke em. Hemp makes great paper. Something to get us through another boring meeting.

Shunned & I don't seem to care. Can u relate?
by joeshmoe inhere's a concern... i've been shunned by my family for going on 3 months... and so what?
is it wrong that i don't seem to miss them?
i know that this can be painful for many and i wonder why it doesn't seem to bother me?

I'm with Gary Bus on this one, thanks Gary! Shunning is a blessing in disguise. I have got a new family and the best from the old family and yes a whole bunch of new and interesting friends. Not the braindead zombiefied WT losers I had before. (a little bitterness remains)

Fire at assembly hall under construction
by proandcon inthis happened at the new ass'y hall in newburgh ny.
it is very close to wt farms.
it always amazed me that more of these accidents didn't occur as the "friends" raced to outdo each other in the building work.

It was a good thing that it was "The Good Will" fire department and not the "Salvation Army" fire department or the good JW's would have had to refuse their services,

Are JW's only in it for the New System?
by In_between_days inif the new world hope no longer existed, would everyone leave?
would some stay?
what do you think the reaction of the dubs would be if the new light was no armaggedon and no "new system"?

The WTS is caught between a rock and a hard place. Ask any JW what they believe and they will tell you what they don't believe. In order for the Society to take away one reward they have to offer another. The very thing that JW's have been taught to believe or should I say not to believe will prevent them from accepting any other hope. It's a tangeled mess. If the New System was taken away JW's for the most part would fall although some would stay because of the 'comfort zone' and would in their hearts keep their old beliefs. What I see is the real problem is that many are having doubts that it is going to happen in their lifetime. There is not much comfort that a replica body created by God with "memory chip" of God's memory of our memory implanted by God (Thanks Gary Busselman) taking our place sometime in the future. That is why the promise of never dying is so attractive. Rutherford must have known this and that is what he offered in place of heaven back in the 1930's. Most Christians find it strange that most JW's don't want to go to heaven. I know one ex-JW who's e-mail address started as "imearthbound". The WTS would have a tough job on it's hands breaking this teaching and the results for them would be catastrophic. Dave

Hang in there buddy. Many people care about you..I do too. We have all experienced pain but things get better and it is wonderful to be here. Great people open their hearts to others like you have done. Dave
